Fort Crook Pioneer Days September 15 possible school day, camps open
September 16 1000 to 1600 hours fun local event; the year I went they also had a dutch oven cooking contest. Our 1st U.S.Dragoons helped rebuilt the fort a decade ago. The 72nd attends in support. Although the Fort flourished in the antebellum era, a few rabble rousing citizens with southron sympathies and loaded weapons could demonstrate the then political strife dividing the nation at that time. More details as we get closer. This is not yet an RACW event. It is still geriminating. Steve Kerns has lead on this.
8th Alabama Tactical September 15-17 Dougherty Ranch near Burney Richard Doherty and Jeff Mann have lead on this. All RACW members welcome. This will be integrated with the Fort Crook Pioneer Days which is only about 15 miles away. This event is likewise germinating. Use of firearms will depend on fire season safety.
